Job Title - Commissioning Engineer

Location - UK, Nationwide

Salary - £45,000 + Negotiable 

Our client is an turnkey systems integrator specialising in perimeter security and advanced electronic systems, delivering CCTV, access control, electric fencing, fibre networks, control rooms, civils work, and project management for major energy sector clients. Continued growth within this sector means they are expanding our technical team.

Role Overview

As a Commissioning Engineer, you will lead the end-to-end commissioning of advanced security and integrated systems. You will ensure installations meet technical specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The role includes SAT execution, technical issue resolution, documentation, and supporting project managers with planning, risk management, and system hand over.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commission IP CCTV, access control, electric fencing, networks, and integrated platforms (Synectics, Bosch, Milestone, Gallagher, Axis, etc.).

  • Identify commissioning risks and support the Project Manager with mitigation planning.

  • Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Support phased and sequenced commissioning planning.

  • Prepare and maintain commissioning documentation, test reports, and certification.

  • Attend site and client meetings as required.

  • Plan and execute SATs and system validation, including Cause & Effect testing.

  • Track and report commissioning progress, updating schedules and technical risks.

  • Contribute to commissioning strategies and RAMS development.

  • Collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure smooth handover.

  • Maintain compliance with internal policies, safety standards, and industry best practice.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years' experience commissioning medium to large technical projects.

  • Experience in security, technical commissioning, or specialist engineering roles.

  • Background in CNI, Defence, or government environments (advantageous).

  • Strong technical knowledge of Gallagher, Lenel, Milestone, Axis, Avigilon and related integrated platforms.

  • Expertise in CCTV, access control, intruder detection, and PIDS.

  • Strong understanding of cybersecurity, resilience, and operational continuity.

  • Experienced in producing commissioning documentation and technical records.

  • Leadership and mentoring experience with engineering teams.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work under changing priorities.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical reporting.

  • Ability to obtain SC or DV clearance.

  • Relevant manufacturer training or industry qualifications (City & Guilds/NVQ or equivalent).

Role Overview

As a Security Installation Engineer, you will install and support electrical and electronic security systems across CNI and Defence sites. This includes IP CCTV, access control, intruder detection, PIDS, secure networks, and integrated security platforms. You will work in sensitive environments, ensuring all installations meet strict technical, safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install IP CCTV, access control, intruder detection, PIDS, electric fencing, secure networks, and integrated systems (e.g., Gallagher, Lenel, Milestone, Synectics, Bosch, Axis).

  • Work to CNI security standards, technical specifications, and British/European regulations.

  • Interpret design drawings and schematics; complete red-line mark-ups and installation documentation.

  • Identify and report risks impacting system readiness and operational continuity.

  • Support smooth handover between Installation and Commissioning teams.

  • Attend site meetings and maintain compliance with safety, security, and cybersecurity requirements.

Skills & Experience
